Detailed Introduction to the Chuandou No. 6 Soybean Variety
(1) Variety source: This variety was developed by the College of Agronomy of Sichuan Agricultural University in 1995 through crossbreeding and selection using (Xiangchun No. 10 x Ningzhen No. 1) x Aijiaozao.
(2) Characteristics: This variety has moderate plant height (46.9 cm), a compact plant type, and upright growth. Purple flowers, brown pubescence, determinate pod-bearing habit, elliptical leaf shape, mature pods are brown and sickle-shaped, seeds are elliptical, 100-seed weight 22 grams, yellow seed coat, light yellow hilum. Crude protein content 45.7%, fat 17.4%, complete seed rate 98.8%.
The full growth period of this variety under spring sowing is about 98 days, making it an early-maturing variety with good yield potential, wide adaptability, lodging resistance, and virus disease resistance.
(3) Yield performance: In the provincial regional trials from 1997-1998, the average yield per mu was 148.2 kg, an increase of 12.53% over the control variety Gongdou No. 3; in production trials, the average yield per mu was 14.58 kg, an increase of 18.9% over the control.

For spring sowing in sole cropping, the hill spacing and row spacing are 0.4 x 0.2 m, with 8,300 hills per mu and about 16,600 plants per mu; for autumn sowing, the hill spacing and row spacing are 0.25 x 0.2 m, with about 25,000 plants per mu.
Apply decomposed mixed fast-acting phosphorus fertilizer as base fertilizer, and topdress with fast-acting nitrogen fertilizer as appropriate at the seedling stage and early flowering stage. Pay attention to timely thinning and final thinning of seedlings, intertillage and weeding, and prevention of pests, diseases, and rodent damage, etc.
