How to fertilize cotton during the seedling stage? Master the right method to grow strong seedlings

Growing Techniques 0 views
During cotton sowing, seedling raising and transplanting, fertilization should be done correctly to ensure full, even and strong seedlings. Seedbed base fertilizer should be refined and moderate in amount. Cotton plants are small during the seedling stage and need few nutrients, so the amount of seedbed base fertilizer should not be too much, with emphasis on being refined and moderate. Organic fertilizer must be fully decomposed, and weed roots and stems should be removed. If bio-organic fertilizer is used, the amount per 10 sq m of seedbed should not exceed 5 kg, and the amount of compound fertilizer should not exceed 1 kg. If decomposed human manure and urine are used, apply them 20 days in advance, then plow and mix thoroughly with the soil. Urea cannot be used as seedbed base

Urea cannot be used as seedbed base fertilizer.

Base fertilizer in the field should be applied deeply and early. At present, many cotton fields have not been plowed to reserve cotton rows, and the preparatory work is lagging. In fields prepared for transplanting cotton seedlings that are fully planted with rapeseed or @#@245@#@, there is urgent pressure on the timing of base fertilizer application. The pressing tasks are, first, to promptly deep-plow the reserved cotton rows, and after the rapeseed and wheat harvest, apply base fertilizer in a hurry, with 30-40 kg of high-content compound fertilizer per mu.

Topdressing for cotton seedlings should focus on being light and quick. Cotton seedlings have small vegetative bodies and young, tender root systems during the seedling stage, so the amount of topdressing at one time must not be too large; otherwise, reverse osmosis will occur, causing water in the cotton seedlings to flow backward and inhibiting growth and development. On the seedbed, it is suitable to apply decomposed manure water or dilute urea solution, along with active liquid fertilizers such as Huimanfeng. For cotton seedlings transplanted to the field, apply urea only after new leaves unfold, with no more than 5 kg per mu.
