More than 100 tea plant diseases have been recorded, and more than 30 are common. I. Leaf diseases: nearly 40 have been recorded. Bud and leaf diseases mainly include: tea blister blight, which occurs rather severely in high-mountain tea gardens in the southwestern tea region; tea white star disease and tea round red star disease, which cause severe damage under conditions of low temperature and high humidity in high-mountain tea gardens in the provinces of East China and Southwest China; tea bud blight is one of the common important diseases in Zhejiang, Hunan and other provinces. Diseases of mature leaves and old leaves include tea cloud-pattern leaf blight, tea ring spot disease, tea anthracnose, tea brown

More than 100 tea plant diseases have been recorded, and more than 30 are common.

I. Nearly 40 leaf diseases have been recorded.

Diseases of mature leaves and old leaves, such as tea cloud-pattern leaf blight, tea ring spot disease, tea anthracnose, tea brown leaf spot disease, tea sooty mold, and tea red leaf spot disease, commonly occur in all tea regions of China. Diseased leaves fall off easily, causing the tree vigor to decline.

About 30 stem diseases have been found. The main types commonly occurring in all tea regions include tea twig black spot disease, tea trunk blight, tea gray plaster disease, tea twig black spot fungus disease, and mosses and lichens on tea plants. In the southwestern tea region there is also tea twig cancer disease. In South China and other places, as well as in Anhui and Hunan, there are tea red rust algae disease, tea black rot and tea thread rot.

More than 30 root diseases have been recorded.

The main types include tea seedling root-knot nematode disease, tea seedling southern blight, and tea root rot. They often cause the whole plant to die.

Root diseases of mature plants include red root rot, brown root rot, black streak root disease and purple root rot.

II. There are relatively few diseases of flowers and fruits. Only flower rot (Botrytiscinerea) occurs relatively commonly. Fruit diseases include cloud-pattern leaf blight and ring spot disease.

The tea plant is a perennial evergreen crop. After maturity, its canopy is dense and closed, the microclimate varies relatively little, and environmental conditions are more stable than those of other crops, so the pathogenic microorganism flora is correspondingly richer, and many tea plant diseases pose a serious threat to some regions. In higher-altitude tea regions, low-temperature and high-humidity diseases such as tea blister blight, tea white star disease and tea round red star disease are often dominant. In tropical and subtropical tea regions in the south, tea root rot, tea black rot and tea thread rot cause relatively severe damage. Nowadays, the extensive use of nitrogen fertilizer has changed the amino acid composition within the tea plant, and the tea leaf tissue structure has become soft, which is conducive to infection by pathogens, increasing the number of leaf diseases.
