Detailed Explanation of High-Yield Cultivation Techniques for Transplanting Oyster Mushroom Buds

Mushroom Cultivation 0 views
In bed-style cultivation of oyster mushrooms, it is common for mushroom buds to grow unevenly, and this is even more serious in outdoor sunken-bed cultivation. Of these densely packed small mushroom buds, no more than 3 to 4 grow into edible mushrooms, and the vast majority gradually wither after three to five days. On one hand, this consumes a large amount of nutrients; on the other hand, if the withered mushroom buds are not dealt with in time, they will rot and deteriorate, causing pests and diseases and reducing the yield of the next crop. If these mushroom buds are selectively transplanted and cultivated, it can not only reduce pest and disease damage, but also increase yield by 20%. In bed-style cultivation of oyster mushrooms, it is common for mushroom buds to grow unevenly, and this is even more serious in outdoor sunken-bed cultivation. The method for transplanting oyster mushroom buds is introduced as follows:

1. Preparatory work. The transplanted mushroom buds and the receiving mushroom bed should be the same strain and basically colonized at the same time; it is best if they are from the same large mushroom bed of a single batch of cultivation. The cutting tools used should be sterilized over a flame or in 75% ethanol, and then small pits 2 cm deep, 2 cm wide, and 3 cm long should be dug in the mushroom bed prepared to receive them. According to the number to be transplanted, the distance between each small pit should be 10 to 15 cm.

2. Transplanting technique. When the oyster mushrooms grow to the coral stage, select small mushroom buds from dense areas, use a small knife to cut the mushroom buds to be transplanted away from the parent body, 7.5 cm deep on each of the four sides. Try not to let the substrate scatter, then place the mushroom buds together with the substrate into the prepared small pits, and then fill the small pits with some broken substrate, or mound it slightly higher.

3. Precautions. (1) The small pits must be filled full; otherwise water will accumulate and cause the small mushroom buds to die. (2) After filling the broken substrate into the small pits, press gently with your fingers to firm it. (3) Do not spray water within 3 days after transplanting, and prevent exposure to strong sun and wind; it is best to cover with plastic film. Under normal conditions, the mushroom buds begin to grow after 5 days, and they can be harvested after 1 week.
