How to prevent diseases in oyster mushroom wall cultivation? Remember these five points
Disinfection treatment of the fill soil When cultivating oyster mushrooms in walls, the fill soil must be clean soil and must be disinfected before use. Two kinds of fill soil should be prepared: one for sealing the edges, for which soil with greater stickiness should be chosen to prevent the mushroom wall from leaking water; the other for internal filling, for which fertile garden soil should be chosen. Whichever kind of soil is used, it must be dug from more than 10 cm below the ground surface and sun-dried for 3-4 days, then mixed evenly with 1% lime and 0.1% carbendazim for disinfection; for the nutrient soil used as internal filling, add an additional 0.5% phosphate fertilizer and 0.3% urea.
The mushroom bags must not be too long The length of the mushroom bags is best at 25 cm.
When building the mushroom wall, do not remove the bags and build the wall as soon as the bags are just fully colonized with mycelium. It should be done after yellow water is exuded (reaching physiological maturity) or when primordia begin to form. When building the wall, those with the same degree of physiological maturity should be placed together, so that fruiting is uniform and management is convenient.
Water supplementation should be done at the right time and in the right amount according to the physiological needs of the oyster mushrooms and the dryness or moisture of the soil and substrate. In the early stage, when the water content inside the bags is high, supplement less water, so that the soil moisture reaches 20%. After harvesting one flush of mushrooms, a heavy watering can be given once (this should be done several days after stopping watering to let the mycelium recover). Be careful not to supplement water too vigorously, to prevent water leakage.
Regulate air humidity and the moisture of the substrate surface After harvesting the previous flush of mushrooms, not only should water be supplemented into the mushroom wall, but the air should also be humidified to keep the substrate surface moist. Keep the air humidity at around 80%.
