Detailed Explanation of Moisture-Retaining High-Yield Cultivation Methods for Oyster Mushrooms

Mushroom Cultivation 0 views
At present, oyster mushroom cultivation yields are often not high, and the quality is also less than ideal. The main reason is that moisture-retention measures during cultivation are not adequately implemented, especially the water content of the substrate after oyster mushroom harvest is not properly controlled, resulting in subsequent flushes yielding far less than the previous flush, and the mushroom quality becoming increasingly poor. How to achieve balanced, high and quality yields from each flush of oyster mushrooms, the key is to do a good job of scientific moisture retention in the substrate. 1. Wall-style casing soil moisture retention for mushroom logs: Lay a 15-20 cm thick earth ridge in the shed according to the length of the mushroom bags, remove the plastic bags from the spawn bags that are well-colonized and about to fruit, arrange the mushroom logs neatly on the earth ridge, cover each layer with 3-4 cm thick soil, spray water on both sides of the soil and smooth with mud, then arrange the second layer of mushroom logs and cover with soil. 6-9 layers can be arranged, and the topmost layer should still be covered with soil and smoothed. After building the wall, spray a heavy watering once to let the casing soil absorb enough water. This method can increase oyster mushroom yield by 50%-90%.

2. Bag-mouth nutritional soil casing moisture retention: Take 45 kg of fertile soil and 5 kg of plant ash, add water until a handful of soil, when squeezed firmly and released from a height of 1 m, breaks apart upon hitting the ground. Bagging cultivation management is the same as conventional methods, except that 2-3 cm thick nutritional soil is placed at both ends of the bag, and during the fruiting period, spray water on the nutritional soil 1-2 times daily. This method can increase yield by about 50%.

3. Sunken bed cultivation with casing soil moisture retention: When using sunken bed cultivation, after bag-cultivated oyster mushrooms have finished the first flush, remove the bags and sun-dry for 1-2 days to let the surface of the mushroom logs form a skin, to prevent pest and disease invasion and inhibit excessive formation of fruiting bodies. Use a disinfected kitchen knife to cut vertically, arrange with cut surface facing up on the sunken bed, fill gaps with fine sand, then cover with 2-3 cm thick fine soil, and finally pour in a water solution with added superphosphate, monopotassium phosphate and white sugar, at a ratio of 2:0.2:1:100. This method can increase yield by 80%.
