Oyster mushroom management reminder: special attention must be paid to cooling at present
Oyster mushrooms are mainly produced in winter, and most have now entered the second and third flush stages. At this time, great attention must be paid to cooling. The reasons: first, the natural temperature in spring is suitable for oyster mushroom growth, so people tend to neglect controlling the temperature inside the shed and of the mushroom bags; second, mycelial vitality declines, and high temperatures accelerate mycelial aging; third, in spring oyster mushrooms fruit quickly and evenly, and the respiratory heat produced can cause the temperature of the mushroom bags to rise sharply in a short time; fourth, to prevent a major outbreak of yellow mushroom disease, which occurs easily above 20°C. According to our investigation, yellow mushroom disease has recently shown early signs. Yellow mushroom disease is a devastating disease, and everyone is urged to pay great attention to it. The key point of current oyster mushroom management is to use existing facilities to lower the temperature of the mushroom shed and mushroom bags as much as possible, as low as possible, so as to maintain and restore mycelial vitality. Several cooling methods are introduced below.
1. Stop all measures that may cause the shed temperature to rise. For example, on sunny days, except for leaving about 1.5 m of the front roof surface for light transmission to prevent oyster mushrooms from growing long stems, cover all the rest tightly with straw mats.
2. While maintaining humidity inside the shed, increase ventilation as much as possible. For ventilation, use both bottom ventilation and top ventilation, open simultaneously and throughout the whole process.
3. When the shed temperature reaches 18°C during the day, all straw mats must be rolled up at night. The straw mats should be covered during the day and uncovered at night.
4. Make timely use of low-temperature weather such as cloudy and rainy days to cool down. On cloudy and rainy days, uncover all straw mats and open the ventilation openings to the maximum until the arrival of a sunny daytime. Even if the shed temperature drops very low, do not stop these measures.
The above measures should be used in combination to truly bring down the temperature of the mushroom shed and mushroom bags. Do not be anxious for quick results, so as to avoid unnecessary losses.
