Introduction to the three-high characteristics of the new oyster mushroom variety 2001
"2001" is a new oyster mushroom variety newly bred in 2002. Comparative trials and large-scale production have proven that this variety has 3 outstanding characteristics: high resistance to yellow mushroom disease and rust spot disease, high yield, and high efficiency, and is known as the "three-high" variety.
1. High resistance to yellow mushroom disease and rust spot disease. "2001" is a wide-temperature-type oyster mushroom, with fruiting bodies ranging from light white to grayish white. It can fruit within a temperature range of 1--33°C. In large-scale production from early autumn planting to the end of spring, in areas where yellow mushroom disease and rust spot disease occur, "2001" can remain safe and sound, fruiting as usual, and will not be infected even when the nutrient in the substrate bags is finally exhausted and they become sponge-like.
2. Wide adaptability and high yield. "2001" has a very strong ability to decompose lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose, and can grow well on culture materials such as rice straw, wheat straw, corncobs, soybean stalks, broadleaf sawdust, and cottonseed hulls, fully demonstrating its advantages of wide adaptability and high yield. Comparative yield trials show that the total yield of this variety is generally 18%--30% higher than that of other varieties.
3. High efficiency. This variety comes to market in South China at the end of September, in Central China and East China in early September, and in North China in mid-to-late August. It is an early-autumn market variety and sells at a high price. In addition, this variety has many advantages such as clustered growth, large caps, short stems, thick caps, attractive shape, good toughness, high quality, and good marketability. It is highly competitive in the market, commands a high price, and delivers good economic returns, so it is deeply welcomed by producers and consumers.
