"Incomplete sterilization, and mushroom growing is a killer," this is a vivid description of cultivation failure caused by incomplete sterilization in shiitake mushroom cultivation. Sterilization is an extremely important step in the process of cultivating shiitake mushrooms, and it determines the success or failure of cultivation.

First, before mixing the shiitake mushroom substrate, carefully inspect the sterilization stove. Check the sealing degree of the sterilization stove, the degree of flame combustion, and whether the cold air exhaust is unobstructed, so as to ensure that no unexpected situations occur during the sterilization process.

Second, after bagging is completed, the bags must be loaded immediately, and according to the amount of 3 tons of material loaded per stove, stack the material bags neatly to ensure that no bag collapse occurs during the sterilization process. At the same time, add enough water to the sterilization pot.

Third, after the material bags are loaded into the stove, immediately seal the material pile and ignite to raise the temperature. After ignition, set the fan to maximum and use a method of fierce burning with a big fire, striving to raise the temperature of the material bags to 100°C in 4~5 hours, then enter the holding stage. During the holding stage, in order to reduce fuel costs, turn the fan down and use a method of slow burning with a small fire to keep the material temperature at 100°C. If using material bags 15~17 cm wide, the time for holding at 100°C should be no less than 16 hours; if using material bags 24 cm wide, the time for holding at 100°C should be no less than 24 hours. During the holding stage, pay attention to the relationship between adding water and the fire; when adding water, burn with a big fire to ensure the temperature does not drop, and absolutely avoid the phenomenon of the temperature in the stove being too low for a long time due to adding too much water at one time. After the time is reached and the fire is stopped, the material should be left to smolder for 12 hours, using the residual heat in the stove to continue sterilization.
