New cotton variety successfully bred in Gansu
The new cotton variety "Jiumian No. 6", bred by the Jiuquan City Institute of Agricultural Sciences (postal code: 735000, tel: 0937-2621195), recently passed variety approval in Gansu Province. This variety is an early-maturing upland cotton, with round bolls, a single boll weight of 6.2 grams, thin boll shells, and smooth and concentrated boll opening; the cotton lint is pure white and easy to pick. The seed index is 11.1 grams, the whole growth period is 145 days, and the pre-frost cotton rate is 81.7%. It is resistant to fusarium wilt, with a specific strength of 27.9 cN/tex, a Micronaire value of 4.3, and a spinning consistency index of 13
