Introduction to the new cotton variety Ekangmian 3
Plant height about 110cm, leaves relatively large, leaf color pale; fruit branches neat, evenly distributed, stems, branches, leaves and bolls smooth, with few hairs; bolls oval, single boll weight 5.54g, lint percentage 39.72%, seed index 11.4g. The whole growth period is about 142 days. In the 1995-1996 Yangtze River basin disease-resistance regional trial, it was identified as resistant to fusarium wilt and susceptible to verticillium wilt; in 1994, the plant protection laboratory of the Cotton Research Institute identified it as highly resistant to fusarium wilt and tolerant to verticillium wilt. 2.5% span length 31.5mm, specific strength 21.6g/tex, micronaire value 4.4. The usual lint cotton yield is about 1200 kg/hectare. It is suitable for planting as spring cotton in verticillium-wilt-free cotton areas of the Yangtze River basin cotton region.
Key points of cultivation techniques: 1) The suitable planting density is 37500-48000 plants/hectare. 2) In fertilization, pay attention to stabilizing nitrogen, increasing phosphorus and emphasizing potassium, together with the application of boron-zinc-magnesium compound micro-fertilizer. 3) Chemical regulation throughout the whole growth period. 4) Strengthen integrated control of pests such as aphids, red spiders, mirids and cotton bollworms, cotton pink bollworms, etc.
