How to increase the success rate of shiitake mushroom log production
1. Select high-quality spawn. For successful edible mushroom production, high-quality spawn is key. Choose high-quality spawn that is contamination-free, with thick, sturdy mycelium and uniform growth. It is best to test the spawn or conduct a fruiting trial before use.
2. Do a good job of log processing. Use polyethylene bags with uniform thickness, strong elasticity and high-temperature resistance for the outer bag; keep the culture material-to-water ratio at 1:1.1-1.2; pack the material with moderate tightness; tie the bag openings at both ends tightly and seal them by melting with a flame; when making logs in the high-temperature season, mix in a 1800-fold carbendazim solution or Kemeiwang, etc., to improve their own disease resistance.
3. Strictly control sterilization. For normal-pressure sterilization, the temperature inside the cooker must reach 100°C and be maintained for more than 12 hours; leave gaps when arranging the mushroom bags in the cooker; from the start of sterilization to the cooker temperature reaching 100°C, no more than 5 hours may pass, so as to prevent the material from fermenting and spoiling.
