Introduction to the Characteristics of the Shiitake Mushroom Variety 241-4
"Shiitake 241-4" is an excellent shiitake mushroom strain selected and bred by the Qingyuan County Edible Fungi Research Center and is very suitable for bag cultivation. The shiitake mushrooms it produces have a round and neat cap shape, large caps, thick flesh, and short stems, with dense mushroom flesh tissue and low water content, making them very suitable for drying. It is currently the variety with the best dried mushroom quality, and its mycelium has strong stress resistance and wide adaptability. It is suitable for spring planting and autumn harvest, thereby avoiding high-temperature inoculation in summer and autumn, which helps improve the inoculation survival rate and does not conflict with farming activities.
This strain belongs to the medium-low temperature type late-maturing line. The mycelium growth temperature range is 5-33°C, with the optimum growth temperature around 25°C. The fruiting temperature is 6-20°C, with the optimum fruiting temperature at 12-15°C; during fruiting body differentiation, stimulation by a day-night temperature difference of 8-10°C or more is required. In cultivation management, the substrate must be mixed according to the formula requirements: 0.2 kg of wheat bran per bag, and each bag of wet substrate weighing more than 1.8 kg (15×55 cm cultivation bags); at the same time, inoculation must be carried out at the appropriate time, generally from late February to early April in high mountain areas, and from mid-March to late April in low mountain areas.
