What are the control methods for bag-cultivated shiitake mushroom rot?
In bag-cultivated shiitake mushrooms (Lentinula edodes), mushroom rot often occurs during fruiting body differentiation and pinning. The main causes are: continuous rainfall during the fruiting period, especially under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions, excessive humidity in the mushroom house, which makes it easy for contaminating microorganisms to invade and cause mushroom rot; some cases are viral diseases that cause mycelial degeneration and fruiting body decay; sometimes due to poor management, excessive watering in autumn, with relative humidity reaching above 95%, combined with poor ventilation under plastic film covering on the mushroom bed and excessive carbon dioxide accumulation, causing mushroom buds to fail to develop normally and become moldy and rotten. The main measures to prevent mushroom rot are:
1. Regulate the temperature required during the fruiting stage. During the fruiting period, the mushroom bed temperature should preferably not exceed 23°C; when fruiting bodies are growing in large numbers, keep it at 10-18°C. If the temperature is too high, remove the film for ventilation, or spray water in the mushroom shed space to lower the temperature. During the formation of each batch of mushroom buds, if the weather is clear and warm, open the film at night and cover it again during the day, to widen the day-night temperature difference, which can both prevent mushroom rot and stimulate the production of mushroom buds.
2. Control humidity well. During the fruiting stage, the relative humidity of the mushroom bed should be around 90%, and the water content of the mushroom logs should be around 60%; at this time, there is no need to spray water. If these standards are exceeded, ventilate promptly to reduce humidity, and frequently turn the plastic film covering the mushroom logs to allow air circulation, suppress contaminating microorganisms, and avoid the occurrence of mushroom rot.
3. Frequently check the fruiting condition. Once rotten mushrooms are found, remove them promptly, and apply lime water, Kemeiwang, or 0.1% benzalkonium bromide, etc., locally.
