How to store dried shiitake mushrooms? These four steps you need to master
1. Choose appropriate packaging materials: Choose packaging materials with good moisture resistance, airtightness and sturdiness. At present, it is best to choose polyethylene as the inner packaging and a thick cardboard box as the outer packaging. Polypropylene can also be used as a packaging material, but polyvinyl chloride must not be used, to prevent chloride ions from penetrating into the shiitake mushrooms.
2. Place desiccant: In the container used for sealed storage of dried shiitake mushrooms, place desiccants such as quicklime, anhydrous calcium chloride or silica gel (after packaging treatment), which can prevent the dried shiitake mushrooms from absorbing moisture and becoming moldy, and stop oxidation reactions from occurring.
3. Store at low temperature away from light: Sealed dried shiitake mushrooms should be stored away from light at 15°C; storage at 1°C-5°C gives even better results, and the storage site should avoid direct sunlight. For this reason, the warehouse is best built upstairs, and the roof should have shading or cooling equipment.
4. Prevent insect damage: To reduce pests, do a good job of insect prevention and impurity prevention during packaging, and do not put insect eggs and unhygienic debris into the bags. Before the dried shiitake mushrooms are put into storage, the warehouse should be sealed and fumigated with aluminum phosphide for disinfection, and put into storage only after there is no medicinal smell. If pests are found during storage, the dried shiitake mushrooms can be put back into a 50°C-55°C environment and baked for 1-2 hours to kill the pests. The following fumigation methods can also be used: about 100 grams of carbon disulfide per cubic meter of space, fumigate for 24 hours; 17 grams of cobalt chloride, fumigate for 24 hours; 30 grams of methyl bromide, fumigate for 24-48 hours; 1-4 tablets of aluminum phosphide (each tablet weighs 3 grams), fumigate for 3-5 days. During fumigation, strictly comply with the relevant regulations and requirements, so as to give full play to the effect of the chemicals and avoid pollution accidents.
