Introduction to the Characteristics of the 9685B Cotton Variety
The 9685B cotton is a new cotton variety with multiple resistance, no need for pruning, and ultra-high yield.
I. Characteristics (1) Uniform and vigorous seedlings. Emergence is fast and uniform, seedlings are vigorous, and growth is steady. (2) No pruning, no disbudding. This variety is a medium-early maturing variety with a growth period of about 125 days. Plant height is about 90 cm, the plant type is relatively loose, fruiting branches are longer, leaf branches are few, leaf branches have strong boll-setting ability, and redundant buds are few, and they readily form fruiting branches and sub-bolls. Throughout the entire growth period, it can be left without pruning, disbudding, or removal of redundant buds, allowing it to grow naturally. It is suitable for large-scale planting. (3) Large bolls and plump lint. Single boll weight is 5.8-6.2 grams, lint percentage is 39.6%-42.1%, the bolls are large and the lint is plump, easy to pick, the fiber is snow-white, glossy, and high in strength, making it a high-quality cotton variety. (4) Strong boll-setting ability. Boll setting is fast, and under adverse weather conditions of cloudy and rainy days with little sunlight, it basically does not shed buds or bolls. The shedding rate is low and boll setting is high. (5) Strong comprehensive resistance. It is highly resistant to cotton bollworm and relatively resistant to fusarium wilt and verticillium wilt. It is resistant to premature senescence, drought, salt and alkali, and lodging. In different years and under different conditions, it shows stable and increased yield.
II. Yield Performance This variety has been demonstrated in multiple locations in Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Shanxi, and other places. The seed cotton yield per mu is more than 400 kg, an increase of 31.5% over the Lu-shen GK-12 cotton and 23.6% over the Han 284 cotton, reaching an extremely significant level.
III. Cultivation Points This variety can be planted in two ways: equal row spacing of 100 cm (plant spacing 23-37 cm), or wide row spacing of 120 cm and narrow row spacing of 60 cm (plant spacing 26-40 cm). On medium-fertility soil, the density per mu is 2500-2800 plants, and on high-fertility soil, the density per mu is 1800-2200 plants.
