Detailed introduction to the cotton variety Chuanza No. 11
Approved in Sichuan Province in 1999. Cumulative promotion of 8.5 million mu.
(1) Variety source: Bred by the Cotton Research Institute of the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences by crossing the self-bred dual-resistant genic male sterile dual-purpose line Kang A2 as the female parent with the F10 superior line 2069, a descendant derived from the transfer of semi-wild Mexican cotton (Chuan 73-27 X Mexican cotton).
(2) Characteristics: Medium-early maturing hybrid, medium plant height (about 88 m), the whole plant is tower-shaped, the first fruiting branch node is low (4-6 nodes), strong boll setting, good boll opening, large and small sample lint percentage 43.54-44.37%, lint index 7.59 g, seed index 9.34 g, 2.5% span length 29.59 mm, specific strength 21.16 g/tex, micronaire value 4.64, resistant to Fusarium wilt, tolerant to Verticillium wilt, Fusarium wilt index 11.35, Verticillium wilt index 30.18, with moderate resistance to aphids.
(3) Yield performance: Results of the two-year provincial regional trial from 1995 to 1996, the average lint yield per mu at 12 site-times was 108.78 kg, an increase of 13.53% over the control variety Chuanmian 56; the average lint yield per mu in the 1997 production trial was 99.68 kg, an increase of 15.53% over the control Chuanmian 56.
(4) Cultivation points: 1. Timely sowing: sow and raise seedlings from March 15 to April 10; 2. Ensure density: plant 2800-3200 plants per mu on flat paddy fields, and 3500-4000 plants on sloping and terraced land. 3. Formula fertilization: for 100 kg of lint, apply 20 kg of pure N, 50-60 kg of cake fertilizer, 50 kg of phosphate fertilizer, and 5-10 kg of potassium fertilizer. 4. Chemical regulation 3-4 times, and timely pest control.
(5) Suitable planting areas: Suitable for planting in the Sichuan cotton region and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River cotton region.
