Introduction to the Demian 800F1 Cotton Variety
Breeding unit Demian 800F1 is a new high-yield, high-quality, multi-resistant hybrid cotton variety exclusively developed by Denong Zhengcheng Seed Industry Co., Ltd. It passed the Anhui provincial approval in 2005.
Characteristics and traits This variety has a whole growth period of about 134 days and belongs to the mid-maturing type; the plant is tower-shaped, with strong growth vigor and strong boll-setting ability, large bolls, thin boll shells, easy boll opening, easy picking, and relatively good cotton fiber quality, with a lint percentage of 42.1%. It is highly resistant to cotton bollworm and pink bollworm; highly resistant to Fusarium wilt and tolerant to Verticillium wilt, sets all three types of bolls, resists high temperature and drought, and does not senesce early, with strong stress resistance; the pre-frost boll rate is 86.5%. It has good high-yield and stable-yield performance. From 2003 to 2004, it participated in the Anhui provincial cotton variety regional trial, and the average seed cotton and lint cotton yields increased by 20.35% and 20.1% respectively compared with the control Wanza 40F1, both ranking first.
Cultivation techniques Nutritional pot seedling raising, sowing in mid-April when the temperature is stable at 15°C, transplanting in mid-May. Density per mu is 1600-1800 plants, and attention should be paid to widening row spacing and hilling up soil. Apply more organic fertilizer and increase phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Rational chemical regulation: use mepiquat chloride for multiple chemical regulations at the full bud stage, full flowering stage, and about 10 days after topping respectively, and pay attention to the principle of light first and heavy later to shape a moderately strong plant type.
Pest and disease control Pay attention to controlling pests such as cotton aphid, red spider mite, and cotton leafworm.
Precautions The progeny of this variety cannot be retained for seed use. Seed coating composition: 16% thiram; coated seeds and young seedlings are toxic, so safety should be noted.
