White tea is one of the world's rare and precious teas, belonging to the asexual, fruitless cultivated plant species. On the international market, 1 kilogram of white tea sells for as much as 5,000 yuan RMB, giving it relatively high economic value, but very few regions in our country produce white tea.

According to Zheng Guangshui, who is responsible for white tea production management in Luowan Township, Jing'an County, the former Shijing Tea Factory in Jing'an County successfully introduced and transplanted 40 mu of white tea in 2000. The more than 100,000 white tea seedlings propagated from cuttings last winter have grown tender shoots and new branches over 3 cun long with four leaves and one bud, with a survival rate of 90%. After transplanting, these 100,000 new white tea seedlings can expand the planting area by 35 mu. After 5 years they will enter the peak tea production period, yielding about 3 kilograms of fresh tea leaves per mu, which will generate considerable economic benefits.
