Production Method and Technical Key Points for Canned Herbal Tea
Herbal tea production operation steps:
1. Medicinal material pretreatment: Remove impurities (small stones, grass, clumps of mud, etc.) and deteriorated, substandard materials (insect-damaged, moldy, rotten, etc.) from each Chinese medicinal material. Mesona chinensis (Hsian-tsao) needs to be cut into small sections, and monk fruit (Siraitia grosvenorii) needs to be crushed for later use.
2. Weighing: Accurately weigh each raw material (when weighing, select different measuring instruments according to the different amounts of each raw material, and they should be consistent with the measuring instruments used for re-weighing), and store them separately in different containers for later use. Carefully keep weighing and re-check records.
3. Rinsing: Place each medicinal material separately in a corresponding rinsing container and wash it individually with ingredient water, repeatedly rinsing until the washing water is basically clear. The storage time for each batch of medicinal materials from completion of washing to loading must not exceed 2 hours.
4. Extraction: Add all the rinsed Chinese medicinal materials, add hot water at about XL85°C into the extraction tank, rapidly raise the temperature to 100°C, maintain the boiling state for 20 minutes, then rapidly draw out the liquid medicine and cool it through a plate cooler to the standard tank. After the first discharge is completed, carry out a second decoction, add hot water at about XL85°C again, rapidly raise the temperature to 100°C, maintain the boiling state for 10 minutes, then rapidly draw out the liquid medicine and cool it through a plate cooler to the standard tank.
5. Residue discharge: After the extraction tank completes discharge, empty the medicinal residue, and rinse clean the residual medicinal residue on parts such as the Chinese medicinal material partition plate, tank wall and bottom cover screen (cleaning should focus on these, otherwise it will affect the discharge speed of the next batch of liquid) with filtered water before loading materials again.
6. Centrifugation and filtration.
7. Blending: Add the corresponding syrup for the ingredients, pump in all the filtered liquid medicine, stir evenly, and make up to volume.
8. UHT sterilization: The liquid material is subjected to UHT sterilization at a temperature of 137°C for 30S.
