What are the key technical points for greenhouse tea cultivation and management?
I. Site selection: Choose level ground or gently sloping land with fertile soil, abundant water, and good soil permeability to establish the tea garden. It is best to choose terrain with mountains to the north and open land to the south, to help block the cold winter winds and avoid wind gaps. For flatland tea gardens, a windbreak forest should be set up on the north side of the tea garden.
II. Tree age: Give priority to mature tea gardens, which have strong tree vigor, robust growth, and high tea yields, with a tea garden coverage of over 85%.
III. Greenhouse model: Mainly winter-warm greenhouses, generally about 13 m wide, with a length preferably not exceeding 50 m for ease of management. High-quality drip-free film should be used for the greenhouse film.
IV. Greenhouse management: The covering time is in early November. The tea fertilizer applied when covering the greenhouse should be mainly high-quality farmyard manure. The application rate is 2 times that of open-air tea gardens, about 6000 kg per 1/5 hectare (1 mu), and after watering, hoeing should be combined, then grass should be spread between the rows, with a grass thickness of about 20 cm, and an appropriate amount of soil pressed on top. The nighttime temperature inside the greenhouse should not be lower than 5°C, the daytime temperature should be 20-25°C, and the relative humidity should be about 70%.
V. Pruning: For autumn-flush greenhouse tea, light and infrequent picking should be carried out to store more nutrients, which helps increase spring tea yield. After the autumn tea harvest, pruning should be carried out. At the same time, the pruning time should also be postponed from before the spring tea harvest to after the spring tea harvest ends. Generally, deep pruning is carried out once every 2 years or so, and heavy pruning once every 7 years or so, controlling tree height at about 80 cm.
VI. Harvesting: Harvesting generally begins when the tea buds grow to the standard for pan-firing.
