How to prevent and control mushroom wilting disease? Remember these eight key points
1. Early prevention in the substrate mix. When using corncobs, wheat straw, or rice straw as the main material, add 5% wheat bran or 4% fermented and decomposed livestock and poultry manure at the bottom; when using nitrogen-rich cottonseed hulls as the main material, no nitrogen source needs to be added, but attention must be paid to controlling mite damage, and spraying an 800-fold dilution of trichlorfon when mixing the substrate works very well.
2. Moderate acidity and alkalinity. The amount of lime added when mixing should reach 5%, and after each mushroom harvest, spray 1% lime water or 4% plant ash water to raise the pH.
3. Ventilation and air permeability. Within 4 days after sowing, ventilate for half an hour at around 10 am each day. As the amount of mycelium increases and large numbers of "pinhead mushrooms" appear, the ventilation time should gradually be extended to 2 hours per day.
4. Cooling and heat preservation. When temperatures are low, measures such as double-layer film covering should be taken to keep warm; in the heat of midsummer, pay attention to spraying water and setting up sheds for shade to lower the temperature, minimizing the temperature difference inside the mushroom house.
5. Water spraying. Water should be sprayed in the morning and evening, and the water temperature is best at around 30°C.
6. Suitable humidity. Generally, the optimal water content of the compost is 70%, the relative air humidity during the mycelium growth stage is preferably 80%, and the relative air humidity during the fruiting body growth stage is best kept at 90%.
7. Correct mushroom harvesting. When picking, do not touch the young mushrooms that are still growing. If the mushrooms are densely clustered, wait until most of them are mature and meet the standard, then harvest them together. During the operation, hold the growing part with one hand and lift the mature mushroom with the other hand to reduce damage to the mushrooms.
8. Timely application of chemicals. When mold appears on the surface of the substrate, sprinkle a layer of quicklime powder on the contaminated area, and at the same time strengthen ventilation and lower the temperature to inhibit the spread of unwanted microorganisms.
