What are the control methods for tulip viral diseases?
Viral disease is one of the main causes of germplasm degeneration in tulips. There are many kinds of viruses that harm tulips, the most common being mosaic virus and color-breaking virus. Plants infected with mosaic virus develop yellow stripes or finely speckled spots on the leaves and dark spots on the petals, and in severe cases the leaves rot; plants infected with color-breaking virus develop pale yellow or white stripes or irregular spots on the flowers, producing broken-color blooms on red or purple varieties, and distinctive mottling on the leaves. After infection, plants grow poorly and become stunted, and the number of bulbs also decreases.

Control methods for tulip mosaic disease:
1. Use healthy bulbs and virus-free perennial roots as propagation material, and treat them with an appropriate amount of chlorothalonil plus Xin Gao Zhi Mo (New High-Fat Film) for seed soaking and disinfection.
2. Supply fertilizer reasonably, keep the potting soil moist, apply topdressing 2-3 times, and at the same time spray Xin Gao Zhi Mo (New High-Fat Film) to preserve soil moisture and fertilizer. During the bud stage, the temperature requirement is 20°C-23°C, not lower than 20°C. Throughout the forcing period, the night temperature must not be lower than 8°C. After budding, spray Hua Duo Zhuang Di Ling (Flower Bud Strengthening Agent) at the appropriate time, which can promote strong buds, plump petals, vivid flower colors, rich fragrance, and a longer flowering period.
3. Chemical control. Remove diseased plants promptly and burn them. Pay attention to controlling virus-transmitting aphids, and when necessary use targeted pesticides plus Xin Gao Zhi Mo (New High-Fat Film) for control.
