Learn how to grow strawberries in pots and enjoy fresh, delicious fruit at home anytime

Growing strawberries in pots is actually not difficult at all; the key is to master the right growing environment for strawberries. First, choose a suitable flower pot. Many people use very small pots, but choosing a slightly larger pot is actually better for the strawberry's root growth. Do not use one that is too shallow, as it greatly affects root growth; a deeper rectangular one is more suitable.
Once the pot is chosen, you can use a sieve to sift the soil. Be sure to choose soft black soil. Do not use very hard yellow soil, or it will be difficult for the roots to take hold and grow. Soil made from decayed leaves and branches under trees is very suitable for growth, and its nutrient content is also high. It is very suitable for growing potted strawberries; only with suitable soil can they bear fruit as quickly as possible.
After putting the soil in the pot, you can start planting the strawberries. You can plant about 5-6 strawberries in one pot. Once planted, you can start watering. The first watering must be generous, otherwise the soil inside will all be dry and the plants will not survive; dry soil will also affect the strawberries taking root.
After planting, do not put them outdoors; place them in a ventilated spot indoors. Putting them outdoors in strong sun will cause the strawberries to wilt. The suitable temperature for strawberries is around 22 degrees. In winter in the north, be sure not to put strawberries outdoors, as they will certainly freeze to death. Placing them on a sunny windowsill indoors is very good and suitable for the growth of potted strawberries.
Under normal circumstances, they can bear strawberries in the same year, but when the strawberries bloom, small flying insects may appear. In that case, you can buy insecticide and mix it with water; about 800ml of water is enough. Then put it in a bottle and spray it directly on the strawberry leaves. This can achieve the insect-killing effect. If you grow them this way, your strawberries will certainly thrive.
Master how to grow grapes in pots and pick fruit yourself at home
To grow grapes in pots, you need to master the following points. First, choose a suitable flower pot. Because the grape plant is relatively large, do not use a pot that is too small. A larger and deeper one is more suitable; a large pot holds more soil, so there is much more nutrition. It should also have holes at the bottom for airflow.
Once you have found a suitable flower pot, look for soil. Use soft black soil; this kind of soil has more nutrients than other soils. It has a very good effect on grape growth and allows the grapes to take root quickly. Fill the flower pot with soil, make a small hole in the middle, and place the prepared grape vine in the center of the pot. Cultivate it with soil, then press down firmly with your hands a few times, and it will be much more solid.
After planting, water it. The first watering must be sufficient. Because the soil inside is all dry, without enough water the roots cannot grow normally. After that, just control the watering; watering once every 3-5 days is enough. Do not overwater, as it easily causes root rot.
After watering, leave it outside for a while to drain, then move it indoors. Do not let it be exposed to strong sunlight outside; placing it in a ventilated spot indoors will help it survive better. After about fifteen days, it can normally begin to take root and grow, and then it can be placed outdoors to receive sunlight. Outdoors, watering once about every 3 days is enough, especially in summer when it is hotter, so water more.
In winter, the weather in the north is relatively cold, so do not put it outdoors; grapevines are especially afraid of cold. Keep it indoors and maintain a certain temperature; 19-24 degrees is very suitable, so it can grow normally. But do not put it next to a heater, as that will scorch the grapevine.
How to grow potted strawberries
1. Store seeds
When eating strawberries, we can remove the strawberry seeds with a toothpick, or buy them from a place that specializes in selling strawberry seeds. To improve the seed germination rate, before sowing we should wrap the seeds in gauze, soak them in water for 24 hours, then put them in the refrigerator and treat them at a low temperature of 0°C to 3°C for about 15 days. The seeds will then be awakened, and after that they can be sown.
2. Sowing
Because strawberry seeds are very small, we need to be careful when sowing. The best method is to use sifted fine sandy loam mixed with some finer humus soil, then fill the flower pot with the mixed soil and wet the soil thoroughly. Generally, ceramic pots are chosen as containers because ceramic pots have good permeability and drain easily.
3. Emergence
Before sowing, spray water thoroughly first. After wetting the seedling substrate, fill the flower pot with soil. The height of the soil should be one centimeter below the upper rim of the pot. Then scatter the seeds evenly. After broadcasting, cover them with some sifted fine soil, about 0.1 cm thick. Actually, it is also fine not to cover them with soil, as long as the seedling substrate is soft enough. Then seal the flower pot with plastic film to keep the soil in the pot moist. After that, at a temperature of 25°C, seedlings will emerge in about 15-25 days.
4. Transplanting
After strawberry seedlings grow for 3-4 months, they can be lifted and transplanted, with a plant-to-row spacing of 20-30 cm. Trim off the large leaves, plant the strawberry seedlings in soft soil, and after planting, water thoroughly to settle the roots. Place them in a semi-shaded spot. After a few days of recovering, the strawberries can grow smoothly.
5. Fruiting
Strawberries are the fastest-growing fruit of all fruits; 3-4 months after sowing the seeds, they can bloom and bear fruit.
