Using biogas residue to cultivate king oyster mushroom (Pleurotus eryngii) offers advantages such as developing new resources and saving costs, generally reducing production costs by about 30%. The pre-fruiting operation techniques for cultivating king oyster mushroom with biogas residue are introduced as follows:
1. Biogas residue treatment: Spread the biogas residue drawn from farm household biogas digesters on flat ground, let it aerate, and sun-dry it until the moisture content is below 15%, then store it for later use.
2. Substrate formula: biogas residue (calculated as air-dried material) 300 kg, corncobs 300 kg, wheat bran 30 kg, superphosphate 10 kg, urea 2 kg, lime powder 30 kg, gypsum powder 5 kg, Gu Bing Xiao (mushroom disease eliminator) 6 bags, edible fungus three-dimensional nutrient essence 240 g.
3. Sterilization treatment: Crush the corncobs to about the size of peanut kernels. Add water to all raw and auxiliary materials and mix well so that the moisture content reaches 60%-63%. For atmospheric-pressure sterilization, fill into polyethylene fruiting bags with a width of 17-22 cm; when using high-pressure sterilization, switch to polypropylene fruiting bags. After bagging, sterilization should be carried out as soon as possible: for atmospheric-pressure sterilization, when the temperature inside the bags reaches 100°C, maintain it for 8-10 hours; for high-pressure sterilization, maintain it for 3 hours; for high-pressure steam atmospheric-pressure sterilization, maintain it for 6-8 hours. In non-continuous operations, after completing sterilization, let it sit overnight for a better effect.
4. Inoculation and mycelial growth: After sterilization is completed and the bags have cooled to below 28°C or room temperature, inoculation can be carried out using conventional procedures. During the mycelial growth period after inoculation, spray a Bai Bing Qu Wu Zong solution about once every 3 days, and carry out inspections to remove contaminants; handle any contamination promptly to prevent it from spreading and proliferating. At 25°C, mycelial growth can be completed in about 25 days, then maintain for about 15 days for post-ripening culture to facilitate explosive fruiting in the first flush. Management during the fruiting period is the same as conventional practice.
