The shaggy mane mushroom (Coprinus comatus) is a new variety of premium edible fungus with high nutritional and medicinal value. According to analysis by relevant edible fungus research experts, every 100 grams of dried shaggy mane mushroom contains 25.4 grams of crude protein, 3.3 grams of fat, 51.5 grams of nitrogen-free carbohydrates, 7.3 grams of cellulose, 12.5 grams of ash, and a caloric value reaching 346 kil...
I. Conditions for Mushroom Primordia Formation The temperature is 15°C-22°C, the day-night temperature difference is 8°C-10°C, the relative air humidity is 80%-90%, and a certain amount of scattered light and good ventilation should be maintained. After the mycelium has fully colonized the substrate, casing soil is required for fruiting. Therefore, casing soil and water adjustment after casing are relatively important for primordia induction.

II. Primordia Induction Method for Bed Cultivation When the mycelium has covered the substrate layer or grown to 2/3 of the middle layer, cover the bed surface with 3-5 cm of fertile soil. The casing soil must be disinfected before use. After casing, ventilate for 1 day, then spray water. Water spraying should adopt the method of small amounts applied frequently, that is, spray water 7-8 times per day, and maintain the water content at 18%-20% within 3-4 days. For water adjustment, 1% clarified lime water or tap water can be used. During water adjustment, increase ventilation; after water adjustment, appropriately reduce ventilation. Casing soil and water adjustment can both provide the temperature and humidity needed for primordia formation and stimulate the mycelium to knot and form primordia.

III. Primordia Induction Method for Bag Cultivation with Casing Soil After the mycelium has fully colonized the bags, remove the bag film and arrange the substrate cylinders on the beds of the fruiting yard, with the cylinders 2-3 cm apart, filling the gaps with fertile soil. After the beds are fully arranged, cover with 3-5 cm of fertile soil. After casing, spray water to adjust moisture so that the soil water content is maintained at 18%-20%. Cover with plastic film to preserve heat and moisture. Thereafter, uncover the film daily for ventilation, spray mist water to maintain air humidity, and primordia can form within 10-20 days.

IV. Preserving Primordia Growth After the primordia have formed, suitable conditions should be provided to allow the primordia to grow robustly. Maintain the temperature at 10°C-16°C, the humidity at 85%-90%, good scattered light, fresh air, and regular daily water spraying for moisture retention and ventilation. Before the primordia differentiate, do not spray water directly onto the primordia.
