1. Dense inoculation method: increase the inoculation points on the log; the more inoculation points, the larger the colonized area, and the mycelium can penetrate the log in a shorter time. The log mainly exchanges gases with the outside by absorbing and evaporating water; the alternating wet and dry water movement can give the inside of the log sufficient oxygen, allowing the mycelium to grow deep into the log and feed on it, thereby accelerating the maturity of the log and reducing the chance of contamination by competing microorganisms.
2. Deep inoculation method: deep inoculation holes hold more spawn, which helps enhance drought resistance and reduces the stimulation of the spawn blocks at the bottom of the holes by external temperature differences. Under relatively constant temperature and humidity, the mycelium in the spawn blocks germinates quickly and the survival rate improves. Drilling deeper holes increases the depth along the tangential direction of the wood, allowing the mycelium to absorb more sufficient nutrients, and the yield will be greatly increased.
3. Early inoculation method: under low-temperature conditions, the density of contaminant spores in the air is low and their activity is weak, so they do not easily germinate into mycelium, while shiitake mycelium can colonize under lower temperature conditions, has strong resistance, grows robustly, and has a high survival rate.
