The Effects and Usage Precautions of Imidacloprid

Imidacloprid is a new-generation chloronicotinyl insecticide, characterized by a broad spectrum, high efficiency, low toxicity, and low residue; pests are not prone to developing resistance to it, and it is safe for humans, livestock, plants, and natural enemies. It also has multiple modes of action, including contact toxicity, stomach toxicity, and systemic activity.

The Effects of Imidacloprid

Imidacloprid is mainly used to control piercing-sucking mouthpart pests, such as aphids, planthoppers, whiteflies, leafhoppers, and thrips; it is also effective against certain pests of Coleoptera, Diptera, and Lepidoptera, such as rice weevils, rice leaf beetles, rice stem borers, and leaf miners. However, it is ineffective against nematodes and red spider mites. It can be used on crops such as rice, wheat, corn, cotton, potatoes, vegetables, sugar beets, and fruit trees. Because of its excellent systemic properties, it is especially suitable for application through seed treatment and granular broadcasting. Generally, 3-10 grams of active ingredient is used per mu, diluted with water for spraying or mixed with seeds. The safety interval is 20 days. Take protective measures when applying, avoid contact with the skin and inhalation of the powder or liquid, and promptly wash exposed areas with clean water after use. Do not mix with alkaline pesticides. Avoid spraying under strong sunlight to prevent reduced efficacy.
