How to Use Carbendazim

Carbendazim is a broad-spectrum fungicide that is effective against diseases caused by various fungi (such as Deuteromycetes and Ascomycetes) in many crops. It can be used for foliar spraying, seed treatment, and soil treatment, among other applications. Below, the editors at Qiannong Network will briefly introduce how to use carbendazim!

1. Control of wheat scab: Spray the first application at the beginning of flowering, and spray a second application 5-7 days later. For each application per hectare, use 3000 grams of the commercial product of 25% carbendazim wettable powder, or 1875 grams of the commercial product of 40% carbendazim wettable powder, or 1500 grams of 50% carbendazim wettable powder, or 937.5 grams of the commercial product of 80% carbendazim wettable powder (750 grams of active ingredient); 937.5 grams of the commercial product of 40% carbendazim suspension concentrate (375 grams of active ingredient) may also be used. Add 750 liters of water, stir evenly, and spray.

2. Control of rice blast: For leaf blast, spray the first application when a disease center is found in the field or acute-type lesions appear, and spray once more after 7 days. To control rice blast, spray once each at the booting stage and the full heading stage of rice. For each application per hectare, use 3000 grams of the commercial product of 25% carbendazim wettable powder, or 1875 grams of the commercial product of 40% carbendazim wettable powder, or 1500 grams of the commercial product of 50% carbendazim wettable powder, or 937.5 grams of the commercial product of 80% carbendazim wettable powder (750 grams of active ingredient); 937.5 grams of the commercial product of 40% carbendazim suspension concentrate (375 grams of active ingredient) may also be used. Add 1050 liters of water, stir evenly, and spray.

3. Control of rice sheath blight: Spray at the early stage of disease occurrence or from the young panicle formation stage to the booting stage, and spray once more after 7 days. Add 1050 liters of water, stir evenly, and spray, focusing on the stems of the rice.

4. Control of cotton seedling diseases: For seed dressing to control cotton damping-off and anthracnose, use 2000 grams of the commercial product of 25% carbendazim wettable powder, or 1250 grams of the commercial product of 40% carbendazim wettable powder, or 1000 grams of the commercial product of 50% carbendazim wettable powder, or 625 grams of the commercial product of 80% carbendazim wettable powder (500 grams of active ingredient) per 100 kg of cotton seed for seed dressing. Seed soaking may also be used: add 750 grams of the commercial product of 40% carbendazim suspension concentrate (300 grams of active ingredient) to every 100 liters of water, stir evenly, and soak the cotton seed. The liquid should cover the seed surface, and the soaking time is 24 hours.

5. Control of rapeseed sclerotinia rot: Spray once each at the full flowering stage and the final flowering stage of rapeseed. For each application per hectare, use 4500-6800 grams of the commercial product of 25% carbendazim wettable powder, or 2812.5-4250 grams of the commercial product of 40% carbendazim wettable powder, or 2250-3400 grams of the commercial product of 50% carbendazim wettable powder, or 1406.25-2125 grams of the commercial product of 80% carbendazim wettable powder (1125-1700 grams of active ingredient); 2812.5-3750 grams of the commercial product of 40% carbendazim suspension concentrate (1125-1500 grams of active ingredient) may also be used. Add 1050 liters of water, stir evenly, and spray.

6. Control of peanut damping-off, stem rot, and root rot: Before sowing, use 1000-2000 grams of the commercial product of 25% carbendazim wettable powder, or 625-1250 grams of the commercial product of 40% carbendazim wettable powder, or 500-1000 grams of the commercial product of 50% carbendazim, or 312.5-625 grams of the commercial product of 80% carbendazim wettable powder (250-500 grams of active ingredient) per 100 kg of peanut seed for seed dressing. When dressing seeds, the peanut seeds may first be soaked for 24 hours or moistened with water, and then dressed with the above amount of pesticide.

7. Control of pear scab: Spray the first application at the bud break stage of the pear tree, and spray the second application after petal fall. Thereafter, the number of sprays is determined according to the development of the disease; generally 3-4 sprays are applied, with an interval of 7-10 days between sprays. For each application, use 25% carbendazim wettable powder at 250-500 times dilution, or 40% carbendazim wettable powder at 400-800 times dilution, or 50% carbendazim wettable powder at 500-1000 times dilution, or 80% carbendazim wettable powder at 800-1600 times dilution, or 40% carbendazim suspension concentrate at 400-800 times dilution, and spray the solution.

8. Control of peach scab: Before bagging the peaches, spray once, and spray once more after 7-10 days. For the spray concentration, refer to the control of pear scab.

9. Control of apple brown spot: Begin spraying at the early stage of disease occurrence, and spray once every 7-10 days. The number of sprays is determined according to the development of the disease. For the spray concentration, refer to the control of pear scab.

10. Control of grape white rot and black pox: Spray after the grapes leaf out and before the fruit colors, spraying once every 10-15 days. For the spray concentration each time, refer to the control of pear scab.

11. Control of sugar beet leaf spot: Begin spraying at the early stage of disease occurrence, and spray once every 7-10 days for 2-3 consecutive sprays. For each application per hectare, use 1800-3600 grams of the commercial product of 40% carbendazim suspension concentrate (720-1440 grams of active ingredient). Add 900 liters of water, stir evenly, and spray.

12. Symptoms of poisoning: After poisoning, symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and vomiting appear.

13. Rescue measures: Induced vomiting and gastric lavage may be performed, and atropine may also be used for treatment. Inject 1-2 mg of atropine subcutaneously, and inject intramuscularly or take orally 0.4-0.6 mg of atropine every 4-6 hours until the symptoms disappear.
