How to control the Japanese pine sawyer? These methods need to be mastered

The Japanese pine sawyer is an insect of the genus Monochamus in the family Cerambycidae. It is an important trunk-boring pest of pine trees in our country, and also the main vector insect of pine wilt disease, a devastating disease of pine trees. In the process of the spread and infection of pine wood nematode, it plays a key role in carrying, transmitting and assisting the pathogen in invading the host. Now let us take a look at how to control the Japanese pine sawyer!
October of the previous year to April (pupa and adult stages)
1. Gather the already infested logs and pine poles, cover them with plastic film, evenly place fumigants around them, then quickly seal the edges of the film with soil. Generally, fumigation for 2 to 3 days is sufficient.
2. Use steam heat, heated drying room treatment, or constant-temperature heat treatment at 50°C for 24 hours. Fumigation treatment of pest-infested wood must be carried out before the adults fly. Use aluminum phosphide at 4 grams per cubic meter, methyl bromide at 16 grams per cubic meter, or sulfuryl fluoride.
3. Adjust the logging period to late autumn and the sales period to winter and spring, so that all logged pine poles are sold before the Japanese pine sawyer causes damage, avoiding the occurrence of artificially created pest sources.
4. In December, clean up pest-infested wood, weakened trees, suppressed trees, and understory shrubs and weeds, which can reduce the population density of the Japanese pine sawyer in the forest.
5. Use natural geographical conditions to open up a 4-kilometer-wide isolation belt, which can effectively prevent the spread of the Japanese pine sawyer.
6. After pest-infested trees are felled, store them outside the forest for 12 months. Saw newly felled pest-infested wood into boards less than 2 cm thick, which can kill the vast majority of Japanese pine sawyers.
May to August (adult flight period)
1. Set up trap wood for trapping and killing. The interval between trap woods should be more than 100 meters. At each point, cut down 1 living pine tree, divide it into 3 sections, and stack them into a triangular frame. Place branches under the triangular frame, and at certain intervals add 1 section of newly cut tree trunk to the triangular frame.
2. Setting traps in the forest can monitor their occurrence and population changes. Impact panel funnel-type or impact panel water basin-type traps are the most effective. The attractant should be arranged in a 33 grid pattern. Using 450-watt high-pressure mercury lamps to trap and kill the Japanese pine sawyer gives good results.
3. Spray 50% fenitrothion or 25% diflubenzuron III suspension concentrate at 1000 to 1500 times dilution. In mid-April and mid-May, use 50% fenitrothion · buprofezin at 100 times dilution. In mid-May and mid-June, spray 400 to 500 times dilution Baosongling twice. In mid-to-late June, use ultra-low-volume spraying of 8% Green Weilei at 900 milliliters per hectare. During the supplemental feeding period of the Japanese pine sawyer, spray for control with 12% fenthion emulsifiable concentrate at 150 times dilution + 4% polyvinyl alcohol at 100 times dilution + 2.5% deltamethrin emulsifiable concentrate at 2000 times dilution.
May to September (egg, larval and pupal stages)
1. In July, release Scleroderma guani by the point-release method, at a density of 5,000 insects per hectare.
2. In autumn, spread Beauveria bassiana powder in gauze bags or inject fungal liquid into the entry holes.
3. Release Dastarcus helophoroides bred indoors into the forest.
4. Pay attention to protecting natural enemies such as Scleroderma guani, Beauveria bassiana, and attracting woodpeckers.
5. Strictly strengthen quarantine. It is prohibited to transport pest-carrying wood or wooden packaging materials without any treatment. Once found, they must be destroyed on the spot.
