How should shiitake mushrooms be inoculated?
How should shiitake mushrooms be cultivated? Please advise. I. Main features of shiitake cultivation: 1. Saves resources and uses a wide range of materials. All miscellaneous shrubs, tree branch wood, and crop straw can be used as production materials. 2. Short cycle and quick results. For substitute substrate cultivation of shiitake, from preparing materials to finishing harvest takes less than a year, and capital turnover is fast. 3...
How should shiitake mushrooms be inoculated? Please advise. The following three shiitake inoculation methods are for reference:
1. Dense inoculation. Increase the number of colonization points on the log; more colonization points mean a larger colonization area, which can make the mycelium penetrate the log in a relatively short time. The log mainly exchanges gases with the outside through absorbing and evaporating water; the alternating wet and dry water movement can provide sufficient oxygen inside the log, allowing the mycelium to grow deep into the log to feed on the substrate, thereby accelerating log maturation and reducing the chance of contamination by competing fungi.
II. Deep inoculation. Deep inoculation holes hold more spawn, help prevent drought, and can reduce the stimulation of the spawn blocks at the bottom of the holes by external temperature differences. Under relatively stable temperature and humidity conditions, the mycelium in the spawn blocks will germinate quickly, and the survival rate can be improved. Drilling deeper holes can increase the depth along the wood's tangential direction, allowing the mycelium to absorb relatively sufficient nutrients, and yield will be greatly increased.
III. Early inoculation. Under low-temperature conditions, the density of competing fungal spores in the air is low and their activity is low, so they are not likely to germinate into mycelium; therefore, early inoculation is not suitable. Shiitake mycelium can establish itself under relatively low temperature conditions, and has strong resistance, robust mycelial growth, and a high survival rate, so early inoculation is suitable.
