Irregular pinning in white lingzhi mushrooms (Pleurotus nebrodensis) means that mushroom primordia do not form normally at the two ends of the mushroom bag, but instead appear in the middle of the bag, which has a major impact on yield.

The following four points can effectively prevent irregular pinning in white lingzhi mushrooms: First, the mushroom bag filling must be standardized. Try to fill the bags evenly and tightly, leaving no gaps, especially when filling bags by hand, where strict control is even more necessary. Second, the mycelium must fully undergo post-ripening. During the mycelial growth stage, keep the culture in the dark, with the temperature relatively constant. After the initial mycelial growth is complete, maintain the original conditions to continue the post-ripening culture. During the post-ripening period, strong light must not suddenly be introduced, and the mushroom bags must not be moved, until all preparations before pinning are complete. Third, maintain a relatively low temperature. Keep the greenhouse temperature at 4°C-15°C, with the optimum temperature being 8°C-12°C. When the greenhouse temperature is above 16°C, the fruiting capacity at the two ends of the mushroom bag will decrease due to the effect of temperature. Fourth, the humidity in the greenhouse must be balanced. After opening the bag mouths, keep the greenhouse humidity at 80%-95%. If the humidity is below 70%, the surface of the substrate at the two fruiting sites will quickly lose water, making pinning difficult, and the fully matured mycelium will inevitably fruit from other sites.
