What harm do mites cause to Agaricus blazei cultivation? How to control mites in Agaricus blazei? Netizens, please help explain

Harm of mites to Agaricus blazei cultivation:

Mites mainly damage the mycelium of Agaricus blazei as nymphs or adults, biting through and feeding on the mycelium; they also bore into the fruiting bodies, forming holes, and the mushroom bodies turn brown or lose their luster.

Some damaged tissue areas develop brown lesions. They make the grower's hands itch. When mite damage is severe, the casing soil particles or mushroom caps are completely covered by a light gray "moving dust," and in heavy cases they clump together, causing a sharp drop in Agaricus blazei yield.

Control methods for mites in Agaricus blazei:

Method 1, Do a good job of environmental sanitation:
Doing a good job of environmental sanitation inside and outside the mushroom yard is extremely effective for controlling mite damage. Spent culture material, mushroom stems and diseased mushrooms discarded near the mushroom yard will continue to spread and infect, and plant debris, peat and old straw are also breeding and infection sites for mites. The mushroom house should also be disinfected.

Method 2, Eliminating mites in the culture material:
The vast majority of mites are brought in by the rice straw in the culture material. When composting the culture material, the pile temperature should be raised to 70°C, and medication should be added to eliminate mites. At the same time, "secondary fermentation" should be used to kill the mites and eggs in the culture material. The main medications added are as follows:
Lindane (benzene hexachloride gamma isomer). Lindane can control mite outbreaks well. At the first turning of the pile, mix 350g of lindane per 1000kg of material.
At the second or third turning of the pile, spray with 40% dicofol emulsion diluted 800 times.
When composting the culture material, adding a certain amount of tobacco stem powder (4kg/100kg) or the stems and leaves of Vitex negundo, Vitex negundo var. cannabifolia, etc. also has a certain effect.

Method 3, Control of mites before casing Agaricus blazei:
About one week after sowing, promptly check whether there are mites on the surface of the culture material. Once mites are found, it is best to eliminate them before casing. Eliminating pest mites should be done at noon when the room temperature is higher, when the mites gather on the surface of the culture material and are easy to kill. The specific method is: fumigate with benzene hexachloride gamma isomer. For every cubic meter of mushroom house space, use 0.5g of benzene hexachloride gamma isomer and ignite it for fumigation. Benzene hexachloride gamma isomer does not hinder the growth of edible fungi, but benzene hexachloride powder must not be used.

Method 4, Control of mites before and after mushroom production:
Before fruiting or after harvesting, spray the surface of the material with a 3000-4000 times dilution of 1.8% abamectin emulsifiable concentrate or a 2000-3000 times dilution of 73% propargite emulsifiable concentrate.

Method 5, Make use of the repellent behavior of mites toward certain substances for trapping and killing:
         1. Mites are especially sensitive to and strongly attracted by the aroma of meat and bone. After roasting meat bones until fragrant, place them at various spots on the mushroom bed. When mites gather on the bones, put them into boiling water to scald them to death. After taking out the bones, they can be reused repeatedly.

       2. Sugar-vinegar trapping: Mix 0.5kg of acetic acid with 0.5kg of water, add 50g of sucrose, drip in a few drops of dichlorvos and mix well, then soak gauze in the sugar-vinegar liquid. Then spread the gauze on the surface of the mushroom bed. After the mites are attracted and gather, take it off and scald them to death. Re-soak in the sugar-vinegar liquid for repeated use.

       3. Tea seed cake trapping method: Heated tea seed cake has a strong oily aroma. Spread wet gauze on the bed where mite damage occurs, sprinkle a layer of freshly roasted tea seed cake powder on the gauze, and after the mites gather on the gauze, take it off and scald them to death with boiling water. Carrying this out several times in succession can achieve the goal of controlling mites.
