Reasons for rapid colonization of oyster mushrooms:

After inoculation, oyster mushrooms generally need 25-30 days for the mycelium to fully cover the bag. The longer the colonization time, the greater the chance of contamination by competing microorganisms, and the longer the production cycle. The rapid colonization method for oyster mushrooms can significantly shorten the colonization time, reduce contamination by competing microorganisms, speed up mushroom production, and shorten the production cycle.

Rapid colonization method for oyster mushrooms:

After the oyster mushroom substrate (sterilized substrate) is bagged, inoculation is carried out at both ends. At each end of the substrate bag, use a pointed stick (2-3 cm in diameter, about 30 cm long) to make a hole from the center of the bag end, with a depth of more than half of the substrate bag, then insert an appropriate amount of spawn into the stick hole, and also place a small amount of spawn on the substrate surface at the bag end. Put on the neck ring and pull the bag opening tight, seal it with a layer of paper and a rubber band, then inoculate the other end in the same way, and colonization can begin.

During oyster mushroom colonization, bags should be arranged according to temperature conditions. When the temperature is high, arrange the bags in a cross-hatch pattern into stacks, with 4 bags per layer; when stacking a second layer, place them in the opposite direction, with 5-6 layers per stack, and leave a certain gap between stacks for heat dissipation. At moderate temperatures, arrange the bags in a cross-hatch pattern into stacks, with 6-7 layers per stack, and also leave an appropriate gap between the two stacks. At low temperatures, arrange the substrate bags into stack walls, about 10 layers high, and also leave gaps between the stack walls.

Precautions during the oyster mushroom colonization period:

        1. During oyster mushroom colonization, the temperature should be 25-30°C. If the substrate temperature is too low, colonization time will be prolonged; if the substrate temperature is too high, the mycelium will be damaged by heat.

        2. After oyster mushroom inoculation, as the mycelium grows, the substrate bags themselves will generate heat, so after about 1 week the stacks should be turned to check colonization progress and remove contaminated bags.
