How can enoki mushrooms be cultivated for high yield? Are there any good methods? We also ask experienced netizens to help share their knowledge. Zhongdiwang has compiled several methods for increasing enoki mushroom yields, listed below for netizens' reference. Method 1: Switch from wide-bag cultivation to narrow-bag cultivation. Wide bags are prone to contamination by weed molds, and when there are few mushroom buds, the fruiting bodies tend to bend, affecting quality and failing to meet the premium requirements of small caps, long stems, light color, and plump tenderness.

Zhongdiwang has compiled several methods for increasing enoki mushroom yields, listed below for netizens' reference.

Method 1:Switch from wide-bag cultivation to narrow-bag cultivation. Wide bags are prone to contamination by weed molds, and when there are few mushroom buds, the fruiting bodies tend to bend, affecting quality and failing to meet the premium requirements of small caps, long stems, light color, and plump tenderness. Therefore, it is better to use 17 cm x 33 cm plastic bag tubes for cultivation.

Method 2:Change the sterilization method from atmospheric pressure to high-pressure sterilization. On a substrate rich in vitamin B1 and B2, growth is rapid and the number of arthrospores is relatively small. However, vitamin B1 is not heat-resistant and decomposes rapidly above 120°C, so it is better to sterilize the substrate at atmospheric pressure. But to ensure a pure culture rate, the sterilization time can be extended from 10-12 hours to 13-18 hours.

Method 3:Change traditional vertical fruiting to horizontal fruiting from both ends. When filling the substrate, inoculate at both ends and leave about 15 cm of tube film at each end, fill lightly and evenly, and tie the bag opening tightly. Place them horizontally in about 4 layers for mycelial running. This method not only ensures fruiting quality but also saves mushroom house space, increasing yield per square meter of mushroom house by more than 30%.

Method 4:To control the timing of opening the bags, use sealed bag-opening cultivation with both ends tied shut. Because the oxygen concentration inside the bag is low, if you wait until the mycelium exudes yellow droplets before opening the bag as in conventional methods, growth will inevitably be affected. Therefore, always pay attention to the mycelial growth inside the bag. Once the mycelium inside the bag is found to be growing slowly, open the bag promptly. But at this time, do not spread it fully open; wait until the mushroom stems grow to about 8 cm, then pull the tube bag straight all at once, to ensure suitable temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide concentration during fruiting. During this process, prevent the mushroom bodies from being forced to grow bent.

Method 5: Enoki mushroom bodies have a strong phototropic tendency, so after the mycelium has run well and they are placed on shelves, you can hang a 15-watt red light bulb about every 4 meters above the center of two rows of walls to produce vertical light, which can induce them to grow horizontally in bundles toward the light source, promoting elongation of the mushroom bodies. But at this time, doors and windows should be shaded to prevent the mushroom bodies from growing randomly, lodging, and bending.

Method 6: Many mushroom farmers know that adding growth regulators and other nutrients during the fruiting period can promote enoki mushroom growth, but often the effect is not obvious due to improper methods, or growth may even be inhibited. Practice has shown that spraying a mixture of 0.5% triacontanol and 10 ml of gibberellin per kilogram of water during the fruiting period can increase yield by more than 17%, but special attention should be paid to the concentration used.
