Pieris rapae granulosis virus, trade names: Yangkang, Wuzhou No. 1, Pieris rapae virus, Wuda Oasis Precision Chongke, common name: Pieris rapae granulosis virus, main formulation is concentrated powder, is a live virus insecticide, processed from the bodies of insects killed by Pieris rapae granulosis virus infection, belongs to low-toxicity insecticides, has toxic killing effect only on target pests, does not affect bees and natural enemies, etc.
1. Mechanism of action and characteristics  This agent is a live virus insecticide, made by processing the bodies of insects killed by Pieris rapae granulosis virus infection. Its insecticidal mechanism is that after pest larvae are infected with the virus, it acts directly on their fat body and midgut cell nuclei; within a few hours the pests stop feeding and cease eating, and finally crawl to leaf edges or leaf surfaces, mostly hanging upside down attached by their prolegs or anal prolegs or dying in a "∧" shape. The dead insect bodies are brittle and soft, easily broken, exuding a pale yellowish-white pus containing Pieris rapae granulosis virus. The virus can infect other healthy Pieris rapae through the feces of diseased insects or dead insects, causing mass death of larvae. This virus is highly specific, effective only against target pests, does not affect the natural enemies of pests, does not pollute the environment, and has a long residual effect period.
2. Application in vegetable production  Controls Pieris rapae, diamondback moth, silver Y moth, beet armyworm, tobacco cutworm, cabbage webworm, cotton bollworm and other pests. Apply at the peak of egg hatching, before larvae reach the third instar. Use 40-60 grams of powder per 667 sq m diluted 750 times, spray on cloudy days or after 4 PM on sunny days, residual effect period 10-15 days. Dead insect bodies can be collected and mashed, and after filtering, the filtrate diluted with water and sprayed in the field can still kill pests; 20-30 fifth-instar dead insects per 667 sq m is sufficient.
3. Precautions  Do not mix with alkaline substances or fungicides; the best application period is at the peak of egg hatching, and no later than before the third instar of larvae; control effect is poor when insect age is older; when spraying, both the front and back sides of leaves must be covered.
