The diamondback moth appears year-round, and bacterial insecticides can be cleverly used to control it effectively. Against diamondback moth and other lepidopteran pests, bacterial insecticides give good control. There are many varieties of bacterial insecticides, and in China the top recommendation is high-efficiency Bt, namely Bacillus thuringiensis.

The commonly used dosage is 8000 international units/ml per mu, diluted 500-1000 times for spraying. When applying bacterial insecticides, several technical points should be noted: the application dose should not be too high or too low, and control should focus on young larvae, especially 1st to 2nd instar larvae; avoid applying the insecticide during high temperatures, and it is best to apply it on a sunny afternoon or on a cloudy day, and do not apply it when the temperature is below 15°C; when spraying, spray the undersides of the vegetable leaves.
