Biopesticides:

BT, whose Chinese name is Bacillus thuringiensis, is a bacterial insecticide. This variety has been fully used in the main vegetable-growing areas of our country and has achieved relatively good economic benefits. However, there are currently many BT manufacturers, and quality varies, so a high-quality variety must be selected when using it. Precautions: BT works better when the temperature is slightly higher, has poorer effectiveness when used in winter, and strong light will affect its efficacy, so it is best used after 4 p.m. BT is quite toxic to silkworms, so it is prohibited in silkworm-rearing areas. It should not be mixed with fungicides.

Chongwen No. 1, also called Spodoptera litura NPV insecticide, is a viral insecticide. This variety was only registered in 1998, and the registering manufacturer is Guangzhou Zhixiewen Yee, and it can also control pests such as beet armyworm and imported cabbageworm, but its effect on diamondback moth is extremely poor. It is currently beginning to be promoted and used in some small markets. This pesticide acts relatively slowly, and when used it can be mixed with an appropriate amount of a fast-acting insecticide, but it should not be mixed with fungicides.

Weidi V-BT is compounded from granulosis virus and BT. It is currently beginning to be promoted in our country, and the manufacturer is Hainan Nanqi Growth Engineering Company. It is mainly used to control diamondback moth, imported cabbageworm, and other pests.

Biochemical pesticides:

Aihuasu (Qimansu) is an antibiotic produced by actinomycetes. There are currently many trade names for it circulating in our country, including the imported Haijimie, and the domestic Haizheng Miechong, Saifu, Aifuding, Chongmanke, and others. It is mainly used to control diamondback moth, American leafminer, mites, and other pests, and has achieved obvious economic and social benefits.

Insecticides with specific modes of action: including Yitaibao, Kasike, Mimian, and others. They are mainly used to control armyworm-type pests.

High-efficiency, low-toxicity, low-residue insecticides:

5% Gaoxiao Dangongchen is 5% imidacloprid, belonging to the nitromethylene class, high-efficiency, low-toxicity, and low-residue. It is mainly used to control sucking pests such as aphids, thrips, whiteflies, and others, and has a strong systemic action. This pesticide has a relatively long residual effect; one application can control pests for about 10 days, and aphid control can last as long as 20 days. Similar products currently on the market also include Kangfuduo, Yibianjing, Yashijing, and others.

Acetamiprid, also called imidacloprid or Mobilan, is a new type of insecticide, high-efficiency, low-toxicity, and low-residue, with strong systemic action. It is mainly used to control pests and pest mites such as diamondback moth and mites.

Others also include common varieties such as trichlorfon and phoxim.
