Want garlic to sprout early? Master five scientific planting methods

Planting garlic
From long-term planting practice we have found that the suitable temperature for garlic sprouting is above 12°C, and once it exceeds 25°C it is no longer favorable for germination. But the common situation is that the temperature is relatively high when garlic is planted in early autumn, which to a certain extent affects the sprouting of garlic. Below are several new methods to effectively promote early sprouting of autumn garlic:
1. Remove the garlic skin and garlic heel: Because the garlic skin and garlic heel seriously affect the water absorption capacity of the seed garlic and hinder the growth of new roots, removing the garlic skin and garlic heel when selecting seeds can greatly promote germination and root growth. So garlic farmers can appropriately break the garlic skin before sowing.
2. Garlic top cutting: First split the garlic bulb into cloves, soak them in water for 36 hours, then take them out and cut off the top with a knife. Be careful not to damage the embryo bud when cutting; cut off about 1/4 of each clove, and it is most suitable when you can see a small hole in the middle. Then arrange them evenly on the ridge surface as usual, apply enough base fertilizer, cover with soil, and cover with a layer of grass for shade; they will sprout in 3 days.
3. Urine water treatment: Mix evenly at a ratio of 70% cool clear water and 30% human urine, then soak the garlic cloves in the urine water for 2~3 days, take them out and dry them before sowing. This can not only promote early sprouting, but also promote broad and dark green leaves in the plants.
4. Low-temperature treatment: Soak the garlic cloves in water for 4~6 hours, then put them into a woven bag and place them in a cool underground cellar. After two weeks, when the garlic cloves have rooted and are showing their tips, sow them immediately. Where conditions permit, they can be stored in a cold storage at 0°C~4°C for 10~15 days and then taken out for sowing, which can advance germination. Hang the soaked garlic cloves in a cool water well, 10~20 cm above the water surface, and this can likewise have the effect of advancing germination. For those planting a small amount, the soaked garlic cloves can be put in a bag and placed in the refrigerator, then taken out for sowing after 5~6 hours, which can likewise promote early sprouting.

5. Seed soaking in medicinal solution:
1. Soak the seed garlic cloves in a 500-times carbendazim solution for 12~16 hours, take them out and dry them before sowing, which can increase the sprouting rate and result in fewer diseases.
2. Use 500 grams of quicklime mixed with 50 kg of water, soak the garlic seed for 24 hours and then take it out, then mix 1 kg of sulfur powder with 50 kg of seed, and then place the garlic seed in a cool place and cover it with fine sand, which can accelerate early development.
