How to prevent and control celery heart rot in spring? Share practical methods

    In spring, some vegetable growers find that although the outer leaves of the celery in their vegetable plots still look dark green, the heart leaves of the celery begin to turn yellow and rot, and then the celery root system and some stems and leaves also die one after another. This is the work of heart rot. Celery heart rot is mainly caused by a lack of calcium and boron in the soil, or by continuous rainy days, after which the sky clears and direct sunlight makes it difficult for celery roots to absorb calcium and boron.

    For celery heart rot, the following measures can be taken for prevention and control:

    1. Reasonable fertilization. Apply sufficient base fertilizer and appropriately increase the application of phosphorus, potassium, and boron fertilizers to cultivate strong celery and improve disease resistance. Do not provide too much nitrogen and potassium fertilizer to celery, so as to avoid hindering the celery's absorption of boron.

    2. Keep the bed surface moist and not excessively dry. Irrigate reasonably, and do not use flood irrigation. When temperatures are low, properly keep celery warm and irrigate.

    3. Remove diseased plant residues in time, plant at a reasonable density, and increase ventilation and light transmission.

    4. Appropriately increase the application of boron fertilizer.

    5. Chemical control. Once diseased celery plants are found, immediately pull them out and use chemicals to control them to prevent spread.

    1. In the early stage of the disease, 25% metalaxyl-propamocarb 1000x solution + Jingbo calcium 800x solution + boron fertilizer 1000x solution, or 25% pyraclostrobin 2000x solution + Baonong vitality essence 750x solution or pyraclostrobin-metiran 1500x solution + Manyuan green foliar fertilizer 1000x solution can be used for effective prevention.

    2. After the disease occurs, 25% metalaxyl-propamocarb 600x solution + 70% thiophanate-methyl 600x solution + Jingbo calcium, or 25% pyraclostrobin + 64% oxadixyl-mancozeb 1000x solution + Baonong vitality essence 750x solution, or thiram 500x solution + 70% oxadixyl 3000x solution + Lizhi calcium 1000x solution can be used, sprayed once every 3 to 5 days, and sprayed 2 to 3 times continuously to effectively control it and prevent it from occurring again.
