Can acetochlor be used for soil sealing in barley fields? Please advise
Acetochlor wettable powder is a mixed formulation of thifensulfuron-methyl and acetochlor, and both of these active ingredients can be applied in barley fields. You can refer to the application method for wheat fields in the product instructions, spraying after sowing and before emergence to carry out soil-sealing treatment, or apply it around the 3-leaf stage of barley. This product has poor control efficacy against weeds that have already emerged in the field, especially when the weeds are older; when the weeds in the field are larger, a post-emergence treatment agent should be used, or it should be used in combination with a post-emergence treatment agent.
20% thifensulfuron-methyl·acetochlor wettable powder contains 19% acetochlor and 1% thifensulfuron-methyl, and is registered for use in wheat fields and corn fields. When used in wheat fields, the recommended pure active ingredient dosage is 240-300 grams per hectare, equivalent to 16-20 grams of pure active ingredient per mu, and 80-100 grams of formulation per mu. When used in barley fields, it should be used at the recommended dosage, and do not blindly use it in excess.
