How are plant growth regulators used correctly? Here is an introduction

The use of plant growth regulators has greatly increased crop yields and improved the quality of agricultural products. However, some farmers in production, due to improper use techniques, not only failed to achieve the expected results, but also caused serious yield reductions due to phytotoxicity.
First taboo: using them as a substitute for fertilizer  Plant growth regulators are regulatory substances within the plant body, and their use cannot replace fertilizer or other agricultural measures. Even when using growth-promoting regulators, adequate fertilizer and water conditions are still necessary for them to take effect.
Second taboo: changing the concentration  Crops have relatively strict requirements for the concentration of plant growth regulators used. If the concentration is too high, crop leaves will thicken and become brittle, become deformed, and may even dry up and die; if the concentration is too low, the desired effect will not be achieved. Therefore, do not arbitrarily increase or decrease the concentration used.
Third taboo: not seeking practical results  When using plant growth regulators, the appropriate period of use should be determined according to their type, the duration of their efficacy, and the needs of the cultivated crop, so as to avoid unnecessary losses.
Fourth taboo: violating the weather conditions  When used under dry climate conditions, the concentration of the spray solution should be appropriately reduced; conversely, when used in seasons with sufficient rain, the concentration should be appropriately increased. The application time should be between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on clear days, and if rain occurs within 4 hours after application, it should be re-sprayed.
Fifth taboo: random mixing  Although mixing plant growth regulators with pesticides and chemical fertilizers can reduce labor and produce comprehensive benefits, whether to mix them must be decided on the basis of fully considering whether enhancement or inhibition will occur after mixing. For example, Yemianbao and Penshibao are acidic and cannot be mixed with alkaline pesticides or fertilizers; Zhizuo Dongli 2003 can only be used alone with clean water. If it is mixed with other pesticides or fertilizers, it will neither achieve a yield-increasing effect nor reduce fertilizer efficiency.
