Paraquat is a fast-acting non-selective herbicide with contact action and a certain systemic action. It is rapidly absorbed by the green tissues of plants, causing them to wither and die. It has no effect on non-green tissues. In soil it rapidly binds to soil particles and becomes deactivated, and it is ineffective against plant roots, perennial underground stems and overwintering roots. Paraquat is extremely toxic to humans, so special care must be taken to protect yourself when using it.
Usage characteristics:
The active ingredient of this agent is extremely destructive to chloroplast thylakoid membranes, causing photosynthesis and chlorophyll synthesis to stop very quickly. Leaves begin to suffer damage and discoloration 2-3 hours after the agent lands on them. Gramoxone has a strong destructive effect on the green tissues of both monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants, but it has no translocation effect and can only damage the part it contacts. It cannot penetrate suberized bark, and after contact with soil it is easily deactivated. It cannot destroy the roots of plants or seeds lurking in the soil, so weeds may regrow after application.
Scope of application:
It can control various annual weeds; it has a strong killing effect on perennial weeds, but their underground stems and roots can sprout new shoots; it has no effect on already lignified brown stems and tree trunks. It is suitable for controlling weeds in orchards, mulberry fields, rubber plantations and forest belts, and can also be used to control weeds on non-cultivated land, field ridges and roadsides. For wide-row crops such as corn, sugarcane, soybeans and nurseries, directed spraying can be used to control weeds.
Usage tips:
1. Use in orchards, mulberry fields, tea gardens, rubber plantations and forest belts. When the weeds have all emerged and are in the period of vigorous growth, use 100-200 ml of 20% aqueous solution per mu, mix with 25 kg of water, and spray evenly over the weed stems and leaves. When the weeds grow to more than 30 cm, the dosage should be doubled.
2. Use in fields of wide-row crops such as corn, sugarcane and soybeans. It can be applied before sowing or after sowing but before seedling emergence, or in the middle and late stages of crop growth, protective directed spraying can be used to control weeds between the rows. For pre-sowing or post-sowing pre-emergence treatment, use 75-200 ml of 20% aqueous solution per mu, mix with 25 kg of water and spray to control weeds that have already emerged. During the crop growing period, use 100-200 ml of 20% aqueous solution per mu, mix with 25 kg of water, and apply as a protective directed spray between the rows.
3. Practical experience shows that paraquat has no obvious effect on Rehmannia glutinosa.
