Tips for fertilizing kiwifruit in all four seasons: smart fertilization effectively increases yield
Based on the patterns of kiwifruit growth and nutrient requirements, Green Food Network has summarized four optimal fertilization methods for kiwifruit, for the reference of fruit growers.

Kiwifruit
① Early spring bud-promoting fertilizer. After the soil thaws in spring and the sap begins to flow, the tree starts its activity; fertilizing at this stage is beneficial for kiwifruit bud break and flowering and promotes new shoot growth. Bud-promoting fertilizer should be applied before kiwifruit sprouting, mainly with quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer (nitrogen fertilizer accounting for 1/2-2/3 of the annual nitrogen fertilizer amount), supplemented with a small amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. For a 4-year-old kiwifruit tree, apply 8-10 kg of pure nitrogen, 4 kg of pure phosphorus, and 4 kg of pure potassium per mu. Broadcast over the whole orchard or apply per plant, then irrigate with spring water 1-2 times.
② Post-flowering fruit-promoting fertilizer. The 30-40 days after petal fall is the rapid expansion period of kiwifruit; during this stage kiwifruit grows rapidly and increases greatly in volume, and fertilizer deficiency hinders kiwifruit expansion. Apply fruit-promoting fertilizer 20-30 days after petal fall, mainly with quick-acting compound fertilizer. At the same time, spray Zhuang Guodi Ling to thicken the fruit stalk and increase nutrient transport. Prevent flower drop, fruit drop, fruit cracking, stiff fruit, and deformed fruit, making the fruit brightly colored, beautiful in shape, and excellent in taste. For a 4-year-old kiwifruit tree, apply 0.25-0.3 kg of monopotassium phosphate per plant. After application, irrigate the whole orchard once.
③ Midsummer fruit-strengthening fertilizer. To make kiwifruit internally firm and to improve single-fruit weight and quality, apply a phosphorus and potassium fertilizer once in June-July. To compensate for the insufficient nutrition during later kiwifruit shoot growth, foliar spraying of quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer 1-2 times can also be done. Foliar spraying of calcium fertilizer at this stage can also enhance the storability of kiwifruit. Mainly foliar spraying, you can choose 0.5% monopotassium phosphate, 0.3-0.5% urea solution, and 0.5% calcium nitrate.
④ Post-harvest overwintering fertilizer. After harvest, kiwifruit leaves lose a large amount of nutrients, so supplying nutrients to the kiwifruit tree at this time is particularly important. Before leaf fall, spray 0.5% urea solution once on the leaves to increase leaf photosynthesis, promote the return flow of nutrients to roots and stems, and increase nutrient reserves. In autumn, apply basal fertilizer early, such as barnyard manure, composted fertilizer, compost, stable manure, cake fertilizer and other organic fertilizers, and mix in some quick-acting fertilizers such as superphosphate and ammonium nitrate. Generally, for a 4-year-old kiwifruit tree, apply 20-30 kg of organic fertilizer per plant, plus 0.25 kg of superphosphate and ammonium nitrate. Broadcast over the whole orchard or apply in strips and trenches. Irrigate once promptly after application.
