How is the fungicide chlorothalonil used? Please give an introduction
Chlorothalonil is a non-systemic broad-spectrum fungicide that has a preventive effect against fungal diseases of many crops. Chlorothalonil provides control of many diseases of grain crops, peanuts, vegetables, cucurbits, fruit trees, tea and more. It is a low-toxicity fungicide and is now widely used. The best timing for its action is to spray for control before the disease occurs or just as the disease begins, when the effect is best.
Its methods of use are introduced below:
1. Control of rice blast
To control leaf blast, begin spraying when disease centers appear in the field, then spray again after 7 days. To control ear blast, spray once each at the booting stage and the full heading stage of rice. Each time, use 1500-1900 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder per hectare (1125-1425 grams of active ingredient), add 1050 liters of water, stir evenly and spray.
2. Control of rice sheath blight
Spray at the early stage of disease occurrence or from the young ear formation stage to the booting stage, then spray again after 7 days. Each time, use 1500-1900 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder per hectare (1125-1425 grams of active ingredient), add 1050 liters of water, stir evenly and spray, focusing the spray on the stems of the rice.
3. Control of wheat leaf rust and leaf spot
Begin spraying at the early stage of disease occurrence, spray once every 7 days, and spray continuously 2-3 times. Each time, use 1500-1900 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder per hectare (1125-1425 grams of active ingredient), add 1050 liters of water, stir evenly and spray.
4. Control of peanut rust, brown spot and black spot
Begin spraying at the early stage of disease occurrence, spray once every 7-10 days, and spray continuously 2-3 times. Decide whether to continue applying based on the growth stage of the peanuts and the development of the disease. Each time, use 1500-1800 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder per hectare (1125-1350 grams of active ingredient), or 1500-2250 grams of the commercial product of 40% Dacotech suspension concentrate (600-900 grams of active ingredient), add 900 liters of water, stir evenly and spray.
5. Control of cucumber downy mildew
Begin spraying before the disease occurs or at its early stage, and spray once every 7 days. Spray continuously 3-4 times. Each time, use 2200-4000 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder per hectare (1650-3000 grams of active ingredient), or 2250-2625 grams of the commercial product of 40% Dacotech suspension concentrate or 40% chlorothalonil suspension concentrate (900-1050 grams of active ingredient), add 1125 liters of water, stir evenly and spray; reduce the spray volume when the cucumber seedlings are small. For control of cucumber downy mildew in greenhouses, chlorothalonil smoke agents can be used; ignite them at the early stage of disease occurrence for smoke fumigation control. Each time, use 7500-12000 grams of the commercial product of 10% chlorothalonil smoke agent per hectare of greenhouse, or 3750-6000 grams of the commercial product of 20% chlorothalonil smoke agent, or 2500-4000 grams of the commercial product of 30% chlorothalonil smoke agent, or 1667-2667 grams of the commercial product of 45% chlorothalonil smoke agent (750-1200 grams of active ingredient), ignite and fumigate. A 5% chlorothalonil dust can also be used at 15000-22500 grams of the commercial product (750-1125 grams of active ingredient) for dusting control; whether to carry out further control is decided according to the development of the disease.
6. Control of tomato early blight
Begin spraying at the early stage of disease occurrence, spray once every 7-10 days, and spray continuously 3-4 times. Each time, use 2200-4000 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil or Daconil wettable powder per hectare (1650-3000 grams of active ingredient), or 2250-2625 grams of the commercial product of 40% chlorothalonil suspension concentrate (900-1050 grams of active ingredient), add 1125 liters of water, stir evenly and spray; reduce the spray volume when the seedlings are small.
7. Control of cabbage black spot and downy mildew
Begin spraying at the early stage of disease occurrence when climatic conditions favor disease development, spray once every 7-10 days, and spray continuously 2-3 times. Each time, use 1700-2300 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder per hectare (1275-1725 grams of active ingredient), add 900 liters of water, stir evenly and spray.
8. Control of bean rust, gray mold and anthracnose
Begin spraying at the early stage of disease occurrence, spray once every 7 days, and spray continuously 3-4 times. Each time, use 1700-2300 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder per hectare (1275-1725 grams of active ingredient), add 900 liters of water, stir evenly and spray.
9. Control of potato late blight, early blight and gray mold
Spray when the disease begins to occur before the potato rows close, spray once every 7-10 days, and the number of sprays depends on the development of the disease. Each time, use 1700-2300 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder per hectare (1275-1725 grams of active ingredient), add 900 liters of water, stir evenly and spray.
10. Control of tomato leaf mold, leaf spot and anthracnose
Begin spraying at the early stage of disease occurrence, spray once every 7 days, and the number of sprays depends on the development of the disease. Each time, use 1700-2300 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder per hectare (1275-1725 grams of active ingredient), add 900 liters of water, stir evenly and spray.
11. Control of anthracnose and early blight of eggplant and sweet pepper
12. Control of downy mildew and powdery mildew of cucurbits
Begin spraying at the early stage of disease occurrence, spray once every 7 days until the disease stops developing. Each time, use 1600-2200 grams of the commercial product of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder per hectare (1200-1650 grams of active ingredient), add 900 liters of water, stir evenly and spray.
13. Control of grape powdery mildew and black pox
Begin spraying at the early stage of leaf disease occurrence or two weeks after flowering, generally spray once every 7-10 days, and the number of sprays depends on the disease. Each time, spray at a concentration of 600-700 times dilution of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder.
14. Control of pear rust
Spray once each before pear flowering (late March) and after flowering (mid-April); if necessary, spray once more two weeks after the second spraying. Each time, use 500 times dilution of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder for spraying.
15. Control of apple anthracnose
Begin the first spraying in early June, spray once every 15 days, and spray continuously 4-5 times. Each time, use 500 times dilution of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder for spraying.
