Insecticidal mechanism of abamectin:It has stomach poison and contact action against mites and insects, but cannot kill eggs. Abamectin sprayed on the leaf surface decomposes and dissipates quickly, but the active ingredient that penetrates into the plant's parenchyma tissue can remain in the plant tissue for a longer time and has a systemic translocation effect. This effect determines its long residual activity against harmful mites and insects that feed and cause damage within plant tissues.
The mechanism of action of abamectin differs from that of general insecticides in that it interferes with neurophysiological activity and inhibits nerve conduction in arthropods. After adult mites, nymphs and insect larvae come into contact with abamectin, they immediately show symptoms of paralysis, become inactive and stop feeding, and die 2-4 days later.

Because it does not cause rapid dehydration of insects, the lethal effect of abamectin is relatively slow. Although abamectin has a direct contact-killing effect on predatory insects and parasitic natural enemies, it causes very little damage to beneficial insects because little residue remains on the plant surface. In soil, abamectin is adsorbed by the soil and does not move, and is decomposed by microorganisms, so it has no cumulative effect in the environment and can be used as a component of integrated pest management. It is easy to prepare: just pour the formulation into water and stir slightly before use. It is also relatively safe for crops, and when used according to the introduced method, no phytotoxicity will occur.

        How to use abamectin:
        1. To control spider mites and rust mites: spray with a 3000-5000 times dilution of 1.8% abamectin emulsifiable concentrate.

2. To control various pine caterpillars, fall webworms, poplar notodontid moths and other leaf-eating pests, use a 6000-8000 times dilution of 1.8% abamectin emulsifiable concentrate for ground spraying; for aerial spraying, use 2-5 ml of 1.8% abamectin emulsifiable concentrate per hectare; for fogging machine application, mix 1.8% abamectin emulsifiable concentrate and No. 0 diesel oil at a ratio of 1:40.

  Precautions for using abamectin:
1. Abamectin kills insects and mites relatively slowly. The peak of insect death occurs only 3 days after application, but on the day of application the pests and harmful moths stop feeding and causing damage.

2. Abamectin is highly toxic to fish, so when applying it, do not let the spray solution contaminate rivers or ponds, and do not apply it during the honey-gathering period of bees.
