What is a seed coating agent:
A seed coating agent is an "outer coat" wrapped around the outside of a seed, containing a water-based pesticide and growth-promoting substances; this outer coating material is also called a "seed dressing agent."

Seed coating agents are different from conventional seed soaking and seed dressing pesticides. With seed soaking and pesticide dressing, the pesticide on the seed surface dissolves when it encounters water after being sown into the soil, and its efficacy rapidly decreases or quickly disappears. A seed dressing agent coated onto the seed, however, immediately forms a solidified film; after the seed enters the soil, it swells upon contact with water but the seed coating does not dissolve. As the seed germinates, sprouts, emerges and grows, the active ingredients in the coating are gradually released and absorbed by the root system, which conducts them to all parts of the plant, extending the effective period of the pesticide.

Benefits of using a seed coating agent:
Seed coating provides comprehensive control of crop seedling-stage pests and diseases, drought resistance and cold protection, ensures full stands from a single sowing, promotes crop growth, cultivates strong seedlings, increases yield and improves quality, and can generally increase yield by about 10%.
Seed coating also reduces the amount of pesticide used, lowers costs, lessens environmental pollution, facilitates mechanised operations, saves labour and time, and economises on seed.
