Zhongdiwang has compiled an introduction to the thiamethoxam insecticide, and the details are listed below for readers' reference.

         The action of thiamethoxam:
Thiamethoxam is a neonicotinoid insecticide, generally a white crystalline powder;  the insecticidal principle of thiamethoxam is: it interferes with nerve conduction in the insect body, is a cholinesterase receptor inhibitor, and belongs to the second generation of neonicotinoid insecticides. Its action is similar to that of acetamiprid and imidacloprid, but it has higher activity. It has stomach poison, contact and systemic action on pests, acts quickly and has a long residual effect period.

         Pests that thiamethoxam can control:
It can effectively control aphids, planthoppers, leafhoppers, whiteflies and others occurring on potato, rice, cotton, citrus, tobacco leaves and soybean.

         How to use thiamethoxam:

        1. Control method for apple aphids: in the early stage of aphid occurrence, use 25% water-dispersible granules diluted with water at 5000--10000 times for foliar spraying.

        2. Control of whiteflies on cucurbits: use 10 to 20 grams of 25% water-dispersible granules per mu diluted with water at 5000 times for foliar spraying.

        3. Control of rice planthoppers: use 2 to 4 grams of 25% water-dispersible granules per mu diluted with water at 5000 times for foliar spraying.

        Precautions for thiamethoxam:
If accidentally ingested and symptoms of discomfort or other poisoning symptoms occur, there is no specific antidote, and a doctor may be asked to provide symptomatic treatment.
After 25% thiamethoxam granules are used twice against rice planthoppers, resistance will develop, so they should be used in rotation.
The pre-harvest interval for thiamethoxam is 28 days.
