Paraquat has been on the market for many years, yet some readers still do not understand its characteristics; Zhongdi Network has compiled the characteristics of paraquat, listed in detail below for readers' reference.

       The herbicidal characteristics of paraquat:

Characteristic one:Paraquat is a fast-acting, non-selective herbicide with contact action and a certain degree of systemic action. It is rapidly absorbed by the green tissues of plants, causing them to wither and die. It has no effect on non-green tissues. In soil it quickly binds to soil particles and becomes inactivated, and it is ineffective against plant roots, perennial underground stems and persistent roots.

Characteristic two:Paraquat is a contact herbicide applied to the foliage. Paraquat takes effect in sunlight and can cause the green parts of any plant it touches to wither. Paraquat works by interfering with plant photosynthesis. After application, paraquat immediately penetrates the leaf surface. In strong light and high humidity, this absorption rate increases further.

Characteristic three:Paraquat must be mixed with water and other substances before it becomes an effective product. Farmers can only buy fully formulated paraquat concentrate, which can be diluted with water and then sprayed, with a maximum dilution ratio of 200 times.

Characteristic four:Paraquat can control various annual weeds and has a strong killing effect on perennial weeds. Paraquat is suitable for controlling weeds in orchards, mulberry plantations, rubber plantations and shelterbelts, and can also be used to control weeds on non-cultivated land, field ridges and roadsides. For wide-row crops such as corn, sugarcane, soybeans and nurseries, directed spraying can be used to control weeds.

Precautions for using paraquat:Paraquat is a non-selective herbicide. If it is not sprayed on the green stems and leaves of crops, and the solution only touches brown, lignified bark and branches, it causes no harm to crops or trees.
