It is a new cytosine nucleoside peptide antibiotic with independent intellectual property rights, discovered and successfully developed by the Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It has a specific effect on viral diseases of many crops and was a key national science and technology project during the "7th Five-Year", "8th Five-Year" and "9th Five-Year" Plan periods. The project achieved complete and systematic research results, from the isolation and identification of the producing strain, the extraction, separation, purification and structural identification of the antibiotic, to pilot-scale fermentation, trial production, industrial-scale mass production, as well as toxicity testing and residue analysis of the antibiotic, greenhouse inoculation, efficacy trials, field trials, and demonstration, promotion and application.
Ningnanmycin can effectively control viral diseases of many crops such as tobacco, tomato, pepper, cucurbits, rice, wheat, vegetables, fruit trees and legumes, and can also control fungal diseases such as powdery mildew, root rot, stem rot, damping-off, Phytophthora blight, gummy stem blight, anthracnose and rice sclerotium disease, as well as bacterial diseases such as rice bacterial leaf blight, Chinese cabbage soft rot and bacterial wilt of solanaceous crops. Precautions for Ningnanmycin:
1. The safe interval period for use on tobacco is 10 days, with a maximum of 3 applications per season; the safe interval period for use on apple is 14 days, with a maximum of 3 applications per season. The safe interval period for use on tomato and pepper is 7 days, with a maximum of 3 applications per season.
